San Diego Running Institute has been providing the local military including the Navy and Marines with the largest Military discount anywhere. The San Diego Running Institute provides a 15% Military discount on running shoes and all items associated with running like running shorts, running shirts, running socks and hydration and nutrition products commonly used by runners.
Why does the San Diego Running Institute provide the largest military discount anywhere? The owner, Dr. Victor J. Runco served four years in the United Sates Navy from 1990-1994 on board the United States Aircraft Carrier John F. Kennedy. Dr. Runco served proudly in the 1st Gulf War and continues to support his county and it’s military by providing a 15% military discount to all military personal. He is also involved locally often volunteering at health fairs at Balboa Naval Medical Center in San Diego and helping many naval personal overcome injury and realize their dream of becoming a Navy Seal.
After helping a United States Marine Staff Sergeant in 2006 Dr. Runco was awarded a flag flown by the 1st Marine Postal Detachment 5, 1st marine Logistics Group Forward, FOB Ar Ramadi, Iraq on August 14, 2006. He displays it proudly in his clinic which is attached to the San Diego Running Institute.
Dr. Runco comes from a long line of military as his father served in the Untied States Marine Corps from 1955-1958 before becoming a New York City Policeman for 37 years. In honor of his father and his service Dr. Runco ran the Marine Corps Marathon in 2007 posting a personal best of 3:57 and earning a Marine Corps Marathon medal for his dad!
