In the world of running shoes “less is more”. Less stability and less cushioning allow the runners foot to function more naturally in the early stages of a long run but also provide some cushioning and suipport in the later stages. Gimmicks, whether we are talking running shoes or abdominal machines are nonsense generated by companies to sell you……..nonsense! A shoe, or lack of a shoe will not prevent running injuries. Fact. Running injuries are casued by volume of running and intensity of running. If you run far enough or fast enough or long enough something will break regardless of what is on your feet. Proper training and conditioning can and will reduce risk and delay injury. Remember, “if it sounds to good to be true then……..you know the rest.”
