The finish line was a big hit this year offering runners icy sponges to cool off with and FLUID Recovery drink to satisfy their thirst. After the race runners were invited to the Bay Hill Tavern located about 1 mile from the finish. Once there Tony from Airdale Brewing poured them a free pint of Airdale Dark and Stormy to help their recovery efforts. Runners were given the option of a all-you-can-eat buffet or simply ordering off the menu. This week is the Sidewinder 5K and 10K. The race begins in San Clemente Canyon/Marion Bear Park just off the I-5 and 52. The trail is a mixture of single track and jeep road. It also has alot of trees that provide a unique canopy for a San Diego trail. This park is one of my local favorites and I am sure will appeal to all those run. Hopefully they will continue to use the park and its trail system for years to come after the race.
